marine fish

Marine fish

Marine fish are salt water fish, there natural habitat is the sea. This makes them harder to keep than any other  fish, but if you want some really good coloured fish Marine is the one for you. They do look splendid in an aquarium and given the right conditions, can live for many years.

Maroon clownfish

This lovely fish is the most hardy of the clownfish family. It has three stripes of whiteness on its body and the rest of its colouring is a rich dark red.It can reach a size of 15cm (6in).

Tomato Clownfish

This fish is not as hardy as a Maroon clownfish but it is still as beautiful. With a rich dark red body and a 1 stripe of white near its face. It can reach a size of 7.5cm (3in).

Common clownfish

This is my favarate clownfish, it has three white stripes and the rest of its body is yellow, apart from the edge of its fins which are black. It cn reach a fairly little size of 7cm (2  3/4).

Pink Skunk Clownfish

This is a fish that looks very like the common clownfish but it only has one stripe of white and no black on it.Another difference is that it grows to 7.5cm (3in) not 7cm (2 3/4).

Electric blue damsel

The Electric blue Damsel is an extremely spectacular fish, and it is very hardy .This makes it a good fish for beginners.

Green spotted manderin

This fish prefers a quiet tank, therefore it is best  kept with coral or other quiet fish.

Asfur angel

This is a fish that grows very large, and it requires a six month established tank. Therefore a more advanced fish keeper would be better with this fish.

Red sea chevron butterfly

This fish grows to four inches long ,it will accept small, frequent particles of brine shrimp.

Majestic angel

This fish is better for the advanced fish keeper, because it needs a six month established tank. It can grow to ten inches , and is best kept with other large fish.

High hat

This is a hardy fish making it an ideal fish for beginners.

Blue faced angel

This is an extremely large fish, it can grow up to twelve inches. It needs a six month established tank, making it better for a  more advanced fish keeper.

Coral beauty

Generally this fishes colour is a mix of red, blue, purple and gold, but you do get exseptions .The dorsal ,anal and caudal fins are all dark blue, and they getto about 15cm (6in)

.

Queen angelfish

This fish has very bright colours , but somehow it manages to blend in withits habitat very well. This fish has a close relitie called  the blue angelfish .These two sometimes mate and there babies are a mixture of them. They live in coral reefs, and grow to about 30cm (12in).

Yellow Tang

This fish has a stunning yellow colar\ation, which is why it is called the yellow Tang .It lives in the pecific ocean .So it needs a high temperature, at about 75 - 79 degrees f. It comes in only yellow , and grows to about 20cm (8in).
