Feeding crabs

Crabs, unlike most aquarium pets, need a lot of calcium in there diet. This means that you can't get away with just feeding them on the normal fish food. There are lots of different sorts of crabs that can be kept in the aquarium, and this page is going to tell you about all of them and how they live.

Fiddler crabs

Fiddler crabs are a smaller sort of crab , the males have a big pincer and a small pincer but the females have two small pincers. Unfortuntaly they do not live long in an aquarium because nobody can get the right amount of salt in and they die in a matter of about 1 month . They need salt in there water or they will die even quicker than that.

Ghost crabs.

Ghost crabs are a small sort of crab which reaches a size of 5cm, they live in burrows along the sandy beaches of the Eastern United States. They  will eat a variaty of stuff like other crabs, clams, insects, vegetation, and detritus. There feeding takes place at night wile burrowing takes place in the day.
