Koi
 Koi are

Jikin
This is a rare Japanese
variety hardly ever available outside Japan.They have a stunning
tail which explans why they are sometimes called peacock
tail. Jinkin have a long cigar shaped body with red fins, lips and
tail.They are not born with this coloration, they are made
by removing red scales when they are still young.And they grow
to about 22.5cm (9in)

Comet
This is one of the most
common goldfish varieties in the UK & USA, and it is said to have
originated in the US. They have a slim body and make good pond
fish.There average size is about 30 cm (12in).

Phoenix
This is a Chinese variety. It has a long tail, no headgrowth and an egg shaped body.It
comes in all colours and is a smaller variaty of goldfish.
Ranchu

The Ranchu is perhaps the
most highly prized fish in Japan.The standards there are very
high. The Ranchu is simular to the Chinese Lionhead, but its
tail is not as long & is tucked in.

Celestial
The eyes on this fish are
turned upwards so that they seem to gaze at the sky. They have no
dorsal fin, and cannot compete for food with more vigorous
fish. They come in all colours and are a smaller variety of
goldfish.
Bubble Eye
This
fish has two big pouches by its eyes that are full with liquid.They dont have a dorsal fin,
and they are poor swimmers because of their eyes. They come in many colours, and
they are a smaller variety of goldfish.
Ryakin
This is a hardy and
beautiful variety. Its back is very arched and so is its stomach. It comes in all colours and grows to about 20cm (8in).

Shubunkin
The
way to tell a Shubunkin apart from other fish, is because a
Shubunkin has to have black on it. It mainly comes in black blue
and red, but you can get calico Shubunkins. Their average size is
about 30cm (12in).

Tosakin
This is a Japanese variety,
hardly ever seen in the UK and the USA. This fish has a Ryakin
shaped body, but its tail is what makes it so popular. It opens
very widely, and sometimes even flips over so that it looks like
they have two tails. They come in many colours and they grow to
about 15cm (6in).

Veiltail
The tail on this fish, is
what makes it so popular. It droops down and looks very pretty.
They mainly come in calico but you can get different sorts. They
can grow to about 30 cm (12in).
Wakin
This fish is a Japanese
variety of goldfish, that is also common in China. Its body is
similar to the river carp ancestor. They are very strong and
hardy fish. You can get calico Wakin but they are not
common. They can grow to 30cm (12in), and make good pond fish.
Tamasaba
This
fish is a Japanese variety, it has the body of a Ryakin and a
very long flowing tail. They only come in certain colours. They are hardy fish.
Telescope
This fish has huge eyes
that stick out. Because of this they cant be kept with
stronger fish. Nethier should there tank have any sharp things
in. They come in many colours, and grow to about 15cm (6in).
